America’s and Hillary’s Birthdays
Happy July 4th!!!
SO WHAT’S NEXT?
I believe our next steps need to include making contact with some strong 3rd party spokespeople. (Recall how effective James Carville was in this role).
TODAY is our nation’s birthday! In contemplating the entertainment / celebrity world, recall Hillary’s last Birthday Party had many celebrities.
Here’s an article about her party:
Hillary Clinton’s 60th birthday party rocked.
Democrats danced in the aisles of the Beacon Theatre Thursday night as Elvis Costello and the Wallflowers sang “Happy Birthday, Mrs. President” and asked the musical question, “(What’s So Funny) About Peace, Love and Understanding?”
“I’ve seen her now for more than half of her life,” Bill Clinton told supporters, who raised more than $1.5 million with the event. “She was just 23 when we met. Poor child didn’t know any better not to talk to me.”
“Two weeks ago today, we celebrated our 32nd anniversary,” he said. “I would campaign for her, if she asked, even if we weren’t married. I strongly feel we don’t have any margin for error.”
The former President recalled that, the night before, Costello had performed with Bob Dylan, dad of Wallflowers’ frontman, Jakob Dylan. “To see [Jakob and Elvis] here tonight seems to me like a metaphor for why Hillary - in her 60th year, and still, I think, very beautiful - has waged this campaign not so much for the old rockers, but for the new ones. Not so much for today, but for tomorrow.”
The former First Lady picked up the Dylan riff, recalling how daughter Chelsea used to play the Wallflowers in the White House.
A roar of applause greeted the Clintons as they entered the venerable theater to the strains of The Who’s “I’m Free.”
We asked the former President, who was resting his hand on the shoulder of his wife’s black pantsuit, if he’d given her his present.
“No, I haven’t,” he said with a sly smile. “Everybody wants to know what I’m giving her. But I haven’t told anybody.”
Bill did reveal later “what I’m going to do if she’s elected President.” Looking over at emcee Billy Crystal, he said, “I’m going to do a remake of ‘Grumpy Old Men’ with him.”
Crystal, meanwhile, said “the Clinton 60th birthday had become an annual ritual” for him - having hosted one of the “12″ birthday parties Bill had last year. “He should be 72,” he said.
~ ~ ~
So, how about today, July 4, we do a little brainstorming about politicians … James Carville?
Or entertainers who support her - Jakob Dylan? Elvis Costello? Billy Crystal??? - we might be able to contact via ClintonDem channels.
IMHO, her campaign staff didn’t do her any favors by having so few 3rd party people talking about her - Big Mistake.
Hillary NEEDS those 3rd-party spokespeople now, more than ever.
Anybody got contact info for the above, and/or have additional celebrity ideas??
Please be thinking about this while you eat your hot dogs, watermelon, and birthday cake!

Great article, thank you!
Jack Nickolson would be good.
Ellen, Jon Stewart
The Donald
Cramer (Mad Money)
America
Eva
Quincy
Joe (Morning Joe)
Kevin Spacey
Hillary needs 3rd party pitches. But I think the media is guarding o from any support for Hillary still. It’s hard for anyone other than o to get positive attention.
Let’s be sure, before contacting any celebs that they are IN FACT still supporting Hillary and are good/smart speakers. The above suggestions are good. Kevin Spacey and/or Quincy Jones would be excellent. Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, too. Ellen. Billy Crystal. Jon, Jack. Melanie, Eva, America.
Clint Eastwood (if he is in fact a Hillary supporter). Why not a team of these people fanning out? Morning Joe is a Republican who wasn’t always kind to Hillary during the primaries.
Jon Stewart? Really? Has he openly supported Hillary? This would surprise me since I stopped watching him when it looked to me like he had turned into another media koolaid drinker.
I did see the piece he did recently (second-hand) where he called BHO out on one of his 30-sump’in flip-flops. But, I wasn’t convinced.
On the other hand, Joe Scarborough raked Chris Matthews over the coals and demanded an immediate apology to Senator Clinton for Matthews’ sexist and inappropriate comments about her. Every time I saw Joe, when the topic was HRC, he was cordial and encouraging. He even joked with her that people were teasing him about her being his girlfriend. He claimed he didn’t care what they said. He is a Republican, but I saw nothing but respect from him.
Hillary is #44!

MANY of the HRC supporters are supporting O now. But still they love HRC and could STILL be good 3rd person voices for Hillary. WE want to get her debt paid and just because they are now remaining D’s can still help her. I believe Clint is an R. But was rooting for H, but not sure here. I would think Hillary has tons of A list celeb friends that could help out. Speilberg and Nicholson seem key. I would think Babs would be eager to help her.
Fran Dresher
Meathead
so many…..
Cher.
When asked by reporter this question: Who do you prefer Clinton or Obama?
Cher replied: It’s a no brainer, she prefers Clinton!
