Hillary folds her roll call to acclamation!
An acclamation, in its most common sense, is a form of election that does not use a ballot. “Acclamation” or “acclamatio” can also signify a kind of ritual greeting and expression of approval in certain social contexts in ancient Rome…………..
(Isn’t it funny that Obama is building a stadium colliseum style nomination speech.Hail Ceaser? or should we call him Weaser?) Hiel Hitler or Hiel Blitzer and Cnn for stealing our election year to the special interests. I prefer to call him Ceaser like since he is.Demanding all the attention and zealots alike or throw the Obama unredeemed under the Roman bus mainly to the gladiators and lions dens.
Bill almost had me convinced tonight that the issues are important and they are but I can’t trust Obama to follow the will of the people. He made a commitment to others and I don’t feel I am one of those others he intends to help.
Hours before the roll call, Clinton had released her delegates at a rally with her supporters. Sensitive to the emotions of the moment, the New York senator left open the option that individually they should feel free to vote as they wish on the roll call.
“Many of you feel a responsibility to represent the voters in your state,” Clinton said. “Others want the chance to vote what’s in your heart. I’m not telling you what to do.”
Clinton’s own claim on history — as the first woman to have come so far in a presidential campaign — made it more difficult for her delegates to let go even after she conceded. Many felt empowered by voters at home — a mandate they were reluctant to surrender. And it was striking how women stepped in to set the tone of the final arrangements.

This is going to sound like ’sour grapes’, but I feel offended that my vote was thrown out. NJ gave all their votes to BO. I can appeciate Hillary being a team player, and I’m sure she knew they had already rigged the votes so BO would win…but I don’t understand her need to be complicit in this fraud. She gave up, quit, just threw our votes away…sure she looked magnanimous to the party…but she can’t possibly think Pelosi/Dean/Brazile /BO will appreciate it.
I’m just so disappointed and disgusted tonite.
Jeleano if you have sour grapes I do to. How can we help it considering how this election year has gone?
We make wine! Revenge is a dish best served in November.
I like wine…
ME TWO HAVING ONE RIGHT NOW!
As much as I love and adore Hillary, I am also very disappointed that she has to take their orders every step of the way to be humiliated by them over and over again. The democratic party is a huge flaw. Not much different from the communist party. I wish that she had the guts to run as an independent as Lieberman did. It would have been unstoppable!
I will never fully understand the politicians.
Just so you know, the vote by acclamation is done nearly every time - it’s not the Obama team forcing Hillary into humiliation or defeat specifically this year. It’s supposed to indicate that the party is united behind whoever the nominee is clearly going to be. People who support their party’s platform and agenda generally do want the party to be seen as united in the hopes that it will help them ultimately elect their candidate to carry out their ideas and agenda.
janiceg, After the way a handful of SD’s gave BO the ‘presumptive nominee’ title in June…many of us worked hard all summer to try to sway the SD’s opinions before the convention when their vote would legally count. Their responsibility was to vote for the most electible candidate, and from what I heard there were SD’s that switched sides after watching the ‘chosen one’ flounder and slip in the polls. There were many supporters and The Denver Group, that fought to make sure there was an open legitimate Roll Call Vote, which could have allowed a win for Hillary . This phony vote, started with intimidation of delegates, voting in hotel rooms, back room deals, and ended in an ‘acclamation’ with Hillary’s help. The vote by acclamation is NOT done nearly every time, and this time, just continued and completed the fraudulant stolen election.

NObama, not ever!

jeleanoro: The vote by acclamation has been done since parties went to binding primaries. Hillary conceded to Obama before the convention began so there was no attempt to persuade SDs by Hillary’s camp and individual SDs changing their votes would not have affected the ultimate outcome. Party candidates usually concede to the ultimate nominee prior to the convention so that the convention’s message will be unified and strong, mainly because whatever their individual aspirations were, they want the party to succeed in the general election.
I must admit that I’m more than a bit confused by the position taken by people on this list and others like it. I was not an Obama supporter and I’m not here to persuade anyone otherwise but merely came on to try to understand. I’m having trouble understanding on two fronts:
* The candidate herself has said that she thinks it’s important to put the past aside and support and work to elect the party’s candidate. I don’t understand why the people who so strongly supported her and her positions are not heeding this request. Either she has compromised her principles and is therefore not worth supporting, or she is still worth supporting and so her supporters should accede to her wishes.
* The issues at stake for this country in this election seem to me to be so profound that carrying grudges for whatever has happened in the past, no matter how egregious, seems self-defeating. I assume that people who supported Hillary did so not only because she was female but because they agreed with her philosophy and goals. The current Democratic platform, and most of Obama’s stands on the issues, agree with Hillary’s positions. Isn’t it preferable to have the next administration work towards those goals rather than chancing that the Republicans might be elected when their goals and philosophy are so opposite to what Hillary stands for?
at this point, at least for me, it’s no longer about the issues. it’s about trust. i DON’T trust NObama and he has done NOTHING to EARN my vote.
I TRUST McCain.
Janiceg says”I was not an Obama supporter ”
jeleanoro says” and you’re obviously NOT a Hillary supporter, so why are you here at a Clinton Democrats site, if not to start trouble?
If you WERE a Hillary supporter, You would never mistake what we’re feeling as a “GRUDGE”! The DNC, Obama and his camp and the media, have engaged in unDemocratic, Fraudulant, Illegal and unAmerican activities to Force this unqualified candidate on the American people. I could go on, but I won’t waste any more of my time on you. Just remember, 18 million people purposely DID NOT vote for your guy, because he’s unqualified. I’m not alone in my views. I did my homework on all the candidates…perhaps you’d understand better if you just did your homework on the ‘chosen one’!
He’s not “my guy” - he’s “the Democrat’s guy,” which was my point. I was hoping for a thoughtful answer to my points but I will leave you all to nursing your grievances.
One more point to ponder: if Hillary was so qualified to be President and you trusted her, as I did, to deal with world leaders and steer the United States to courses of action that other people did not necessarily agree with, why is it that you’re so convinced that she was outmaneuvered and is being forced to do things she would prefer not to do?
I am also from NJ a state won by Hillary and almost every delegate backed her, BUT I was so embarassed by My home State and our Govenor During the PHONY ROLL CALL .How dare they throw my vote out for a candiddate I DESPISE and DO NOT TRUST to run the local Little League let alone My country! I HAVE A HARD TIME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THESE ELITE DEAN, PELOSI ETC, HAVE DONE TO THE cLINTONS BUT i WILL NEVER FORGET IT! I AM SICK and cannot wait to Elect John Mccain in November and hope all of us Remember the way are Party and Elected officials IGNORED US AND THE CLINTONS.i FEEL like we all will need to police the voting booths in November because something tells me we have not seen the ensd of ELECTION FRAUD THIS YEAR! GOD HELP US ALL! NOBAMA EVER!
