after the RNC circus, i am surprised about all the “celebrity” status attributed to sarah palin & her family. I think they are amazingly cute, and she is definitely different, but those are not the attributes i want in a leader. in other words, she is no hillary clinton. The democrats have to be concerned that hillary is not on the ticket, and hope that sarah palin does something stupid, otherwise that really attractive family of hers and her supermom status might just sway some voters that are not in tune w/ issues. But Mccain does not impress me at all, as usual…

nursenancy, i don’t think you’re going to see Palin do anything stupid, she’s one smart cookie! You’re right, she’s not Hillary, but look what the DNC did to her…what a shame! McCain and Palin will have to do this time. Issues went out the window on May31st, then June3rd, and finally August 27th!! I will not vote to validate the travesty of the Dem primary!
I hope you have read my previous diaries and comments. Hillary exposed Obama as an empty suit. He himself has claimed in AC360 that he is qualified to be presided because he is running for president–what a circular logic! He has defrauded the democratic voters by sending his thugs to steal the cacucuses. He has very dangerous connections from unrepentent terrorist Ayers to anti-semite Farrahkhan to anti-american Rev. Wright. Yet, the MSM isn’t lifting a finger. I don’t know of any mainstream media assigning a couple of journalists to verify if Obama was in fact in the pews or not when Rev. Wright delievered his GDA sermons.
In contrast, Sarah Palin (I can’t yet call anyone but Hillary with just their first name.) was dragged in the sand even before any facts about her was emerged. This is no way our MSM treats a celebrity. Not only her character, her family, her accomplishments, her executive experience were al pooh poohed. Maybe, the MSM sees her as a threat to their chosen one. Or, maybe, because she is a woman.
In any case, nancynurse, we don’t have to worry that she is being treated or portrayed as a celebrity. On the otherhand, she gained such status by being a pitbull and taking the MSM headon and going after “The One” in a civil manner. She showed poise and courage and quietly made a case for her. And people, men and women, republicans and independents loved her for doing it with such ease.
Of course, if she does some thing silly, that would be enough for the MSM to jump on her. Afterall, a woman has to pay the highest price for her gaffes; and a man like Obama would be able to dust off even an association as terrible as that of Ayers or Farrahkhan.
For this election anyway, I hope McCain the man who has given everything but his life for this country prevails over the man who wants everything from this country for promote his life.

I am an Independent. No matter how well Obama presents himself or the Democratic cause, I simply cannot vote for him. This is the reason why. To me there are three primary things that unite this great, wonderful, crazy melting pot of a nation of people that we call America. The Constitution, our Flag and our English language. A lawsuit has been filed against Obama, the DNC and the FEC, disputing his eligibility under the II Amendment (dual citizenship), to even run for President. It has not gone away or yet been resolved irrefutably to the American people. I cannot just sit back and allow some hotshot Constitutional Atty attempt to trash or do an end run around our Constitution. It could set a precedent that could have future grave repercussions for out country, not to mention the chaos that would ensue.

There are enough legitimate and valid questions/points raised by this lawsuit, that I now want independent definitive answers to them. The fact that both the Daily Kos and Obama’s own website posted a blatant “forgery” of his COLB on his website, raises questions. Now factcheck.org, a democratic mouthpiece, has posted the “supposed” real certified COLB on their website quite conveniently after Obama made his little trip to Hawaii. It still states that the father’s race is “African”. That cannot be right. Africa is a continent, not a race, as there are Caucasian Africans also. Not good enough for me now. To little, to late.
I no longer will accept a COLB that has come from inside the Obama campaign and posted on some Obama supporting website. The issue of forgery looms large as a specter here. I need to see an outside independently certified verification of his original vault certificate by a legal entity, under penalty of perjury. I also need certified answers to the other issues raised. This is a grave matter of Constitutional law that affects the very core of who we are as a people and what we represent. He needs to answer the American people. We need to protect and preserve the future integrity of the Democratic party. I may be independent, but I still want/need to have choices when I vote. That is why I am Independent.
Mr. Berg has been painted out to be some kind of a kook due to other causes he has chosen to espouse. Be that as it may, I do know that you do not get to be Pennsylvania’s former deputy attorney general by being a crackpot or a kook. I would imagine that you would still have to know your stuff! This lawsuit has not gone away, contrary to the belief of some. Confirmation was received from Mr. Berg’s Process Service Company that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Senator Barack Obama were served today, September 4, 2008, with the legal documents pertaining to Berg vs. Obama, Civil Action No. 08-cv-4083. The DNC was served at 12:00 p.m. and Senator Obama was served at 1:00 p.m. The U.S. Attorney’s Office accepted service on behalf of the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) on or about August 22, 2008.
Now it would be very simple for Obama and the DNC to make this all go away. Just authorize the production of the proper documentation by a third unbiased party. Why won’t/can’t they just do this? How hard can it be. Their stalling and hesitation alarms me. Why don’t they just sue the pants off of Berg if there is no veracity to this suit? There is still time (not much) for Obama to step aside and allow the Democratic party to have a legitimate candidate with time left to campaign. This lawsuit really needs to be fast tracked now.
I can picture this scenario………………..Obama is elected. After election it is determined that he is not eligible, Then (the two time Pres. candidate loser, a long time Washington insider), Biden, steps into the Presidency. Biden has had to date, two brain aneurysms and a heart attack and he, like McCain, is also old. Now let us postulate that he expires due to health issues while in office. That would mean that Pelosi would then, by law, step into the Presidency. This scenario gives me a straight up heart attack and the willies to boot! Who here thinks that she is qualified to be President? It does not seem to me that any of these democrats are qualified. This is why it is so important that Obama prove himself eligible to ALL Americans before one should vote for him. I cannot just “accept” his word for it now. Until that happens, I find that I have no option other than to vote for McCain.
A vote for anyone else would strengthen Obama’s chances. I do not think a Hillary write-in, while a satisfying feeling, will not work and only possibly help Obama. There is always 2012. McCain will not be running for a second term.
A true Hillary Supporter could never vote for Obama.
Since Hillary will not be on the ticket this election cycle unless the above bears fruit, I am far more comfortable with Palin after finding this out.
SARAH PALIN’S EXPERIENCE:
Don’t dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard– consider this.
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counter terrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s and certainly by far exceeds Obama’s.
She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counter terrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska ’s proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.
Obama is a fraud and America is learning this. McCain/Palin are honest and trustworthy. We may not believe in all off their politics but we believe in them. People that is all that matters. Who do you believe. I am voting McCain/Palin because I believe in what they say.
No need to be conflicted. It’s clear.
Obama denied Hillary Clinton the VP job, he never even vetted her and in doing so he denied ALL WOMEN DEMOCRATS the opportunity to have the first Woman VP.
So - how is it that McCain is more pro-women than Obama?
Obama has done NOTHING for Hillary and he has done NOTHING to reach out to her supporters.
If Women Vote for Obama - they are STUPID. Why would anyone support an unqualified, inexperienced male that was CHOSEN above the qualified, experienced woman by the Party Leadership?

nursenancy seems to be oblivious to the more fundamental issues at stake: fraud, disenfranchisement, and CHARACTER. Those ARE the issues. Yes, Hillary had it exactly correct; it is about the issues, AND the aforementioned issues are THEEEE ISSUES. It doesn’t matter what a candidate promises and states regarding the issues if one doesn’t BELIEVE them to be HONEST. I don’t vote for devils, but I prefer for the devil I know to the devil I don’t (and J McCain is hardly a devil).
It seems that the Obots are trying to sow discontent.
Up until Sarah Palin, EVERYONE had to be careful what was said about Barack Obama. It so reminded me of the early Bush days when Karen Hughes was around to chide everyone who ‘made Bush look bad’. And has anyone forgotten Ari Fleischer’s statement to a reporter: ‘watch what you say’?
Well all this tiptoeing around Obama has reminded me of just how terrible it was to be in America in the years after 2000, bursting with objections, and not being able to speak. Therefore, it was an incredible emotional relief finally to hear Gov. Palin speak publicly and directly about the Obama deficiencies.
